What our statements rest on
This page exists for one reason: every number and every statement on this site has to be checkable by the person reading it. If a figure has no stated basis, we do not publish it.
Water
The system runs as a closed loop. Water the plants do not take up is collected in the return tank, filtered, corrected for nutrients and returned to the line. Through the cycle there is no discharge to the outside: the losses are evaporation and the water that leaves inside the harvested plant.
A figure we are not publishing yet
Our brand book states a 90% reduction in water use. That is a comparison, and a comparison with no stated baseline cannot be checked: 90% less than which crop, which method and which season. Until we fix the basis of calculation and the measurement period, the number stays off the site.
